The French make incredible food but it turns out that they also make excellent kid audio guides! So much so that my daughter wanted to skip our reservation at a crêperie to finish her quest through Château de Vincennes.
Earlier that weekend both kids spent their entire time solving a mystery throughout Musée de l’Orangerie through their audio guide.
Highlights from the Musée de l’Orangerie:
✅ Included animations and illustrations
✅ Accessible language for upper elementary/early middle school
✅ Character and story-driven content
Highlights from the Château de Vincennes:
✅ AR brought the history of the castle to life
✅ Excellent storytelling with professional storytellers and ambient noise
✅ Gamified quest (of course!)
Non-audio guide related: we're also appreciative of the family space at Musée de l’Orangerie that was perfect for releasing that post-museum visit energy :)
Just because I work in museums doesn't mean my kids love going to one. Finding these super engaging opportunities that allow us all to enjoy different cultural spaces makes it a win for everyone.
